About Mina Boyd
Music has been a part of Mina’s life from an early age. She began playing piano at three and violin at five, and grew up surrounded by music with a piano teacher as her mom.
An Alexandria native, Mina played in several local youth orchestras, including DC Youth Orchestra and Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, and continued performing chamber music throughout college at the University of Rochester. Her years as a student musician gave her a deep appreciation for both the discipline of learning an instrument and the creativity and connection that come from making music with others.
Now back in her hometown, Mina is excited to share her love of the violin with a new generation of students. She hopes to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can build confidence, develop their skills, and most importantly, enjoy making music.
