Teacher Profile: Michelle Obrien

About Michelle Obrien

Michelle is a musician originally from Long Island, New York. Her love of music began at a young age when she began singing in choir. At the age of seven, she started piano lessons and received ten years of formal piano training up to the collegiate level.

While pursuing her Bachelor’s in Music at Stony Brook University, Michelle studied under Madeline Hildebrand. During this time, Michelle also began teaching music lessons privately and at various music schools. She has taught a variety of age groups, including kindergarten to adults.

After one year at Stony Brook, Michelle, and her husband moved to Colorado. She transferred to the University of Denver, where she studied under Stephanie Cheng and received her Bachelor of Arts in Piano.

Michelle is passionate about sharing her love of music with her students. She enjoys incorporating different elements of music theory and technique into her lessons. Michelle is a firm believer that music has a profound effect on an individual’s development and confidence and believes that it is for anyone that has a desire to learn! She teaches both voice and piano.
