    About Melody Jimenez

Melody Jimenez developed a love for music at an early age while growing up in a musical family. With a father who is a songwriter and guitarist and a mother who enjoys singing, music was a constant part of her childhood. Melody began taking piano lessons at the age of six and quickly discovered a passion for both music and learning. At the age of thirteen, she began serving as a pianist at her church, this was for her an experience that deepened her love for performing and accompanying others. Melody later auditioned and was accepted into the Dr. Phillips High School Magnet Program for Performing Arts, where she completed college-level coursework in AP Music Theory, Music History, Keyboard, and Music Technology. She is currently completing her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences while continuing her piano studies under Amuni Nacer, a former piano professor at Berklee College of Music. Melody plays piano, marimba, and a variety of percussion instruments. She also teaches private piano lessons.

Throughout her musical journey, Melody has gained experience performing in a variety of musical settings. During high school, she performed as a pianist in Jazz Band and as a percussionist in both Concert Band and Marching Band. She participated in Solo & Ensemble evaluations for four consecutive years, consistently earning Superior ratings with distinction. Melody was also selected to participate in both All-County and All-State music programs, where she performed alongside other accomplished student musicians. In addition to her school ensembles, she has served as a pianist at the Congregation Yeshua the Bread of Life for over seven years and has been invited to play piano for worship services and special events at other churches throughout Central Florida, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. These opportunities have strengthened her confidence, musicianship, and ability to collaborate with other musicians.

Melody started teaching private piano lessons through her home studio in 2021. She knows that every child learns in a unique way. Her lessons combine method books with interactive games, rhythm activities, ear training, music theory, and building/expending each student's 3-Song Repertoire List. She tailors her strategy to match each student's interests to keep learning both engaging and effective. Melody also has experience teaching students with diverse learning needs, including children with ADHD, and adapts her teaching approach to best support each student's learning style. She values open communication with parents and believes that encouraging partnerships between teachers and families help students build confidence, develop consistent practice habits, and achieve long-term success.

Melody's teaching philosophy is centered on creating a positive, supportive, and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to grow both musically and personally. Having studied piano since childhood, she understands that learning an instrument requires patience, perseverance, and consistent encouragement. Her goal is to make every lesson enjoyable while helping students build a strong technical foundation through healthy playing habits, music reading, rhythm, and creative learning activities. She believes that celebrating small accomplishments and tailoring lessons to each student's interests helps foster confidence, motivation, and a lifelong love of music. Above all, Melody hopes every student leaves each lesson feeling successful, excited to continue learning, and proud of the progress they have made.
