    About Meghana Krish

Meghan Krish is a Mezzo-Soprano and active Music Educator based in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. She works with Voice and Piano students of all ages throughout Montgomery County.

Meghan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance under the instruction of Melanie Sonnenberg at the University of Houston’s Moore’s school of music. She was also a member of the world-renowned choral ensemble Concert Chorale under the direction of Betsy Cook Weber.

As an active performer, Meghan has appeared in a number of productions in the last 5 years.

These include Moore’s opera center production of Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld and Menotti’s Amelia al Ballo. She also performed as a trio member in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, and as Mrs. Herring in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring. She participated in the Texas Music Festival’s institute of voice studies and was coached by Richard Bado and Nova Thomas. In the fall of 2021, Meghan played the role of “Mrs. Anderson” in the Moores Opera Center production of A Little Night Music and performed the role of “Hata” in their production of Smetana’s The Bartered Bride.

As a performer, Meghan's primary focus is Classical Voice, and yet she works with students of all levels for Voice study across a wide range of genres that include sacred, pop, classical, and more. She also teaches Piano from beginner to intermediate levels and believes this instrument provides an important foundation for formal Voice study. Meghan studied Piano throughout most of her youth and wishes to share that knowledge with other young musicians.

In addition to teaching and performing, Meghan is an active member of the musical community and has relocated from Houston to the D.C. area to further pursue her performing career.
