    About Maxwell Harris

Max Harris has spent his entire life seeking means for artistic expression and self-discovery, the first of which he found was piano. Whether it was musical theatre, chamber choir, various jazz ensembles including trios, quintets, and chorales, or any of the multiple bands started with friends, Max has always sought musical environments.

Today, Max spends his time honing his skills as a programmer, digital artist, and--perhaps primarily--a composer. Of course, still practicing piano daily, and taking lessons as well. This is all for the love of creating video games, in the attempt to create entire worlds full of music that Max loves to listen to and play.

As a teacher, Max has had various roles, but has predominantly taught music to kids of various ages. His first teaching job was to run the music hour for four classes at a Montessori school. This provided a unique challenge, needing to explain to kids with no knowledge of music whatsoever, some of the core psychosomatic elements of music (e.g. what makes a note high versus low).

Since then, he's taught at a few schools similar to Lessons in your Home, where he would be offering independent piano and vocal lessons to different students, and has also taught one-on-one lessons privately to students of his own.

Max loves being able to share the joys of music with others, and finds no work more fulfilling than to impart the tools and the knowledge that have brought so much light to his own life, and to help people to cultivate a happy relationship with the arts, so that just like him, they'll keep tending to that relationship for their entire life.
