    About Matthew Banneck

Matt Banneck is a multi-instrumentalist teaching guitar and piano lessons in the Denver area. Although he started a life in music on piano and trumpet at the age of 9, hearing artist like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones quickly motivated him to put his energy into learning the guitar. In the following years, he would find himself playing guitar and bass in the local church band as well as forming a rock band in both high school and college, performing live nearly every weekend. Matt can currently be found performing at local open mics and open jams, if he’s not already performing with his psych rock band “Enso” or his Grateful Dead cover band “Chinaflower Suncats.”

Matt started learning guitar in his spare time using online resources like YouTube, but later enrolled in guitar lessons at a nearby music store. His teacher, Richie, had a profound impact on him in more ways than just music related. While teaching him how to read music, play different chords and scales, he was also acting as a role model and encouraged him to follow his passion for guitar.

Matt’s philosophy on teaching music is student-focused, meaning that every student is different and therefore deserves a tailored experience that will help them reach the goals they’ve set for themselves. While learning music, he also believes it can be helpful for lifelong skills like making mistakes and expressing one’s self, while also having fun.

In addition to teaching music, Matt also works as a substitute teacher as well as an outdoor recreation instructor for the City of Denver. In his free time he likes to walk his dog, go rock climbing, ride his bike, or just relax with his wife.
