    About Maggie Vrana

    Maggie is a pianist and vocalist originally from southern Indiana. She began piano and voice lessons in elementary school and was part of a professional children's choir and several all-state choirs, and received regional and state awards in piano and voice performance. Maggie attended Oberlin College where she studied psychology and dance, participated in premier choirs in the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, received an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University, and is a nationally certified counselor. She currently practices in Decatur, and specializes in working with teens and young adults on the Autism spectrum. She loves to incorporate music into therapy sessions!

    Maggie approaches music instruction with the goal of empowering students through a solid foundation of music theory, building students' sense of ownership over their learning, and finding meaning and joy in music every step of the way. She firmly believes every one of her students has tremendous potential, natural strengths, and interests that should be honored and fostered to grow.
