Lyra Ehninger is a passionate musician and vocalist in the Dallas, TX area. As a 2024 graduate of University of North Texas, she has expertise in the areas of piano performance, vocal pedagogy as well as choral conducting, graduating with a degree in Choral Music Education. She is a skilled solo performer, choral singer, and pianist, and has had the opportunity to study under many of the renowned choral faculty of UNT, past and present, including Dr. Kristina MacMullen, Dr. Jessica Nápoles, and Dr. Marques Garrett.
Lyra has always had a love of music, especially singing, and has sung in many choirs throughout her years in school and beyond. With that came a love for piano which she started learning and practicing in middle school, and she became a proficient pianist by the time she was in high school.
As a college graduate, Lyra is always looking for new ways to involve herself in music, and has found a passion for teaching others what she knows. She aims to make her lessons fun yet effective, and hopes to share her love and passion for music with each of her students. She believes that anyone that has a desire to make music can do just that, as long as they have the right help!
Lyra also enjoys exploring a wide variety of music outside of her classical singing, and often tries out a multitude of different styles of vocals in her free time, including pop, musical theater, rock, J-rock, and metal. She enjoys showing her skills in performing different types of harsh vocals in the metal genre, including false chord growls, and fry register screaming. She would love to teach anyone with an interest in that particular area the proper technique! Lyra looks forward to working with any person in any style, and learning new things along the way.
