Lola Cole is a cultural artist and musician whose work is rooted in soul, blues, and roots music—what she lovingly calls “spiritual grit.” Born in Mississippi and raised in Georgia, Lola brings the depth and richness of her Southern background into every note she sings and teaches.
Her professional journey has taken her from the American Academy in New York City to stages at SXSW, major music festivals, and opening for celebrated artists like Erykah Badu, Ledisi, Musiq Soulchild, and Leela James. While in Los Angeles, she was also an alternate vocalist for the Sunday Service Collective. Most recently, she has been a fellow with the SCALE Fellowship at the Equity Impact Center in Pittsburgh, where she continues to develop as both an artist and community leader.
As a teacher, Lola focuses on helping students build a strong foundation in music. She emphasizes healthy vocal techniques such as breath control, pitch, diction, and tone development. Whether students are exploring vocals, guitar, or piano, she supports their growth with basic music theory, ear training, and harmonies to build well-rounded musicianship.
Lola’s teaching style is grounded in patience, encouragement, and a deep respect for each student’s unique voice and pace. Her goal is to create a space where students feel safe to explore, take risks, and develop the confidence to perform—no matter the genre or skill level.
