About Lily Scalisi

Louisiana Mezzo-Soprano Lily Scalisi, remarked as demonstrating "excellent vocalism" and having a "solid voice with clear diction" by the Washington Classical Review, holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and a Bachelor of Music degree from Louisiana State University (LSU).

Collegiately, she has been featured with CCM Opera and the LSU Turner-Fischer Center for Opera, performing and covering roles such as Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte, Ruth in Nico Muhly's contemporary opera Dark Sisters, Datel in Leoš Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen, and Nireno in Handel's Giulio Cesare. Lily's recent professional engagements include appearing as Mrs. McLean in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah and Madame Pernelle in Kirke Mechem's opera buffa Tartuffe with Shakespeare Opera Theatre. She has also performed with Cincinnati Opera in its adaptation of Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio and through the company's Opera Fusion: New Works program in a workshop of Gregory Spears' opera Sleepers Awake.

An avid concert artist, Lily has been featured with a variety of ensembles, notably as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Duruflé's Requiem with the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus, Bach's Christ lag in Todesbanden with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Mozart's Krönungsmesse with McNeese University Choruses, and Handel's Messiah with Collegium Cincinnati.
