About Lee Bates

Lee Bates is a multi-instrumentalist, music producer, recording artist, and DJ with over 20 years of full-time experience. Born in Houston, Texas and raised across the Southeast, he has proudly called the Seattle area his home for the last 10 years.

From age 12, Lee has spent nearly every day of his life performing or composing music in a variety of genres and styles. First learning bass guitar and music production and shortly after, electric guitar and drums. High school was a flurry of solo projects and rock bands, including forays into electronic music.

After graduating high school, Lee began a career straight away as a topline writer and electronic music producer. Over a short time this spread outward to form a wide array of roles in professional music such as composing and producing music for film and television. Later, Lee would pursue production for pop artists in the US and abroad, including JPOP and KPOP.

Today, Lee is a full time recording artist and international touring act, releasing music and traveling on the weekends while writing and parenting during the weekdays.

When not touring, Lee enjoys experimenting with different styles or genres of music production, playing, and writing.
