Kiana Fatemifar is a flutist, pianist, educator, and Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) candidate in Flute Performance at Texas Christian University. Originally from Tehran, Iran, she earned her Master of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has over ten years of teaching experience working with students of all ages, from early childhood music classes to adult learners.
As both a performer and teacher, Kiana believes music education should be creative, joyful, and inspiring. Her teaching approach combines strong musical foundations with imagination, movement, and encouragement, helping students build confidence while developing technical and artistic skills.
Kiana teaches flute, piano, and early childhood music, and has experience working in private studios, schools, and university settings. She is also trained in Orff Schulwerk, a music education approach that integrates movement, rhythm, singing, and play into learning.
Alongside teaching, Kiana maintains an active performance career and has performed across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. She is a prizewinner of the National Flute Association competitions and has been recognized for both her artistry and dedication to music education.
Kiana is passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment where every student can grow, explore, and develop a lifelong love for music.
