    About Khadijah Thomas

    Khadijah Thomas is a professional viola, violin, and piano teacher native to Dallas. Khadijah started learning the violin at the age of 7, then played cello at the age of 8, then moved to play the viola at age 9. She attended Harry Stone Montessori Academy from grade 2 to grade 8 and attended Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, where she learned advanced viola, violin, piano, and music theory. Khadijah has been receiving private lessons from Mitta Angell, the principal violist from the Dallas Symphony since her freshman year of high school (at the age of 14).

    Khadijah placed 1st chair for the all-city orchestra, her sophomore, junior, and senior year. She placed in the all-region orchestra in all 4 years of high school. She placed 2nd chair her freshman and sophomore year in the Booker T. Camerata orchestra, then placed 1st chair her junior and senior year in the Booker T. Sinfonia orchestra and Symphony orchestra. She then placed 1st chair in the Booker T. Opera orchestra her junior and senior year. After she graduated from High School during the pandemic, She currently attends Dallas College in the viola performance sector. She was accepted into the UT Arlington viola program on the highest scholarship provided.

    Khadijah believes in the importance of music lessons for growth and she is very passionate about connecting and learning from her students and being the best teacher for her students!

    In her free time, Khadijah can be found practicing viola, violin, and piano. She can also be found hiking in the Dallas area, scrapbooking, and reading non-fiction and fiction novels.
