Keira Shaw is a musician in the Seattle area who has experience in piano, guitar, voice, composition, songwriting, notation, and accompanying. Ever since she was little, music has been the catalyst for her to express herself beyond what is possible with words. Music has also been a way to bring people together in her life, from singing in a family choir to participating in the worship team at her church.
Keira’s musical journey began at age 8 when she began piano lessons and has continued steadily since then. She picked up guitar at 15 and began writing songs more frequently as well. While at Green River College, she joined the jazz choir and that kicked off a journey of music at the collegiate level. She attended Seattle Pacific University and graduated in 2026 with a BA in Piano Performance and Composition, studying under Dr. Dainius Vaicekonis and Dr. Sarah Bassingthwaighte. In the spring of ‘26, she won SPU’s concerto competition and premiered with the SPU Orchestra. With a passion for excellent and authentic performance, Keira has used her skills in various church settings and ensembles, with GRC’s Jazz Voices, SPU’s Concert Choir, Collaborative Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble, and collaborating with worship teams at Valley View Christian Church, SPU’s chapel, and Bethany Community Church.
While Keira is classically trained, she enjoys music of many varieties; pop, jazz, folk, indie rock, alternative, and many more. She believes that everyone resonates with music in some form and that music can invite people into a unique way of experiencing community. She’s excited to work with LIYH students to share this passion for music and teach others how fun studying music can be.
