Teacher Profile: Kayla Collier

About Kayla Collier

Kayla is a passionate and experienced music teacher who offers lessons in voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she developed her love for music at a young age through spending time singing and playing guitar with her father. Those early experiences, including performing together in recitals, sparked a lifelong passion for music and performance.

Kayla’s musical journey continued with the Texas Girls’ Choir, where she sang from ages 10 to 16 and advanced to the prestigious Carter Concert Choir. During her time with the choir, she had the incredible opportunity to travel internationally, including performing outside Westminster Abbey in England and being invited to sing for the Pope in Vatican City. She later attended Texas Wesleyan University, where she earned her degree in music in 2019 with a concentration in voice. While in college, she was selected as one of only 16 singers in the university’s top Chamber Choir and studied under respected musicians including Dr. Jerome Bierschenk, Allison Ward, and Julie Whittington McCoy.

As a teacher, Kayla is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident and excited to learn. With experience across multiple instruments, she is able to tailor lessons to each student’s individual goals and interests, helping them build strong fundamentals while also fostering creativity and a genuine love for music. She believes that music education should be both structured and enjoyable, encouraging students to grow not only as musicians but as confident individuals.

Outside of teaching, Kayla enjoys building LEGO sets and creating art to display in her home. She also loves spending time with her husband and her two chihuahuas, Rosie and Ellie.
