    About Katherine Ruff

    Katherine Ruff is an acclaimed Soprano, Teacher, and performer. Katherine Ruff received her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Towson University in Baltimore, where she was an extremely decorated and accomplished performer.

    Katherine is the recipient of the Irving H. Cohen award, the Towson University Voice Division 2022 Talent award, The first place winner of the Peggy Friedman Gordon Music competition, and the winner of the prestigious Sanborn scholarship for voice. Ms. Ruff is also recognized as regionally debuting the role of Helena in Micheal Ching’s new composition of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as reviving the role of Elizabeth Barrett Browning in Freer’s The Browning’s go to Italy after the composition was rediscovered over one hundred years after its debut. Ms. Ruff is also an experienced Opera Outreach performer, singing principal roles in children’s operas such as Mystery on the docks (Ralph), The Billy Goat’s Gruff (Ernesto), Jack and the Beanstalk (Trouble Woman) as well as others with Opera Baltimore.

    After teaching privately, Ruff established her studio. Ms. Ruff is currently a graduate student pursuing her masters degree in Vocal Performance and a graduate assistant at Georgia State University where she is studying under Kathryn Hartgrove. Ms. Ruff has previously studied with Natalie Conte, Dr. Courtney Kalbacker, and Dr. Min Jin as well as others. Katherine has also had private coaching sessions with broadway legends such as Adam Pascal.
