About Kalkedan Bezabih

Kal, short for Kalkedan Bezabih, is a music teacher and songwriter who loves sharing her passion for music with students of all ages. She’s been singing and writing songs since she was a child, and began formally studying music—piano, voice, and guitar—at age 15. Her time learning with local teacher Heidi Pollyea helped spark not just a love of performing, but also a deep interest in teaching.

In high school, Kal took on leadership roles in choir and musical theater, and later went on to study Music Management at Georgia State University. There, she spent several years training in voice, taking piano classes, and singing in the University Singers, GSU’s top choir. She also had the chance to work with several experienced vocal coaches and participate in masterclasses to continue developing her skills.

Since 2018, Kal has been teaching music lessons and is known for being patient, encouraging, and creative. She works hard to make learning music a fun, meaningful experience—often using games, activities, and her own custom-made teaching materials to help each student feel supported and engaged.

Outside of lessons, Kal enjoys writing and recording her own songs, performing at local open mics, and exploring new musical ideas she can bring back into the classroom. When she’s not making music, she enjoys staying active, traveling, and finding inspiration in everyday life.

Kal’s goal as a teacher is simple: to help students enjoy music, grow their confidence, and build skills they can carry with them for a lifetime.
