Joseph Reid is a versatile musician originally from Lenoir, North Carolina. He now lives and teaches throughout the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. As a Brass Specialist, Joseph teaches Trumpet as his primary along with all other Brass family instruments, including Trombone, Euphonium, and more! He performs Trumpet in a wide range of settings, like symphony orchestra, brass quintet, mixed chamber ensembles, as well as jazz and rock ‘n roll groups.
Joseph holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Georgia and a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Maryland, where he was a fellow with the Terrapin Brass Quintet. His primary teachers include Chris Gekker, Philip Smith, Brandon Craswell, and James Stokes. Inspired by his parents, both lifelong public school music educators, Joseph is an active performer, arranger and educator who works with students of all ages.
