Johnathan Ulloa is a Florida native of Colombian and Puerto Rican descent whose lifelong relationship with music began at home. Introduced to the sounds of the 80s and the warmth of the radio by his mother, he developed an early love for music and singing that would evidently shape his future. He later pursued formal training, earning certificates from Berklee College of Music and the Los Angeles Music Academy, as well as a minor in Music Studies from the University of Central Florida. A versatile musician and educator, Johnathan plays and teaches piano, voice, and guitar.
From an early age, Johnathan was already performing, beginning with the Florida Singing Choir and continuing through numerous recitals and showcases. His time at Berklee College of Music further expanded his experience, giving him opportunities to perform at a range of events that refined his artistry and stage presence. He later continued his formal performance training under Latin Grammy winner and mentor Leo Quintero, participating in distinguished recitals that deepened his musical expression and professionalism.
Johnathan’s passion for teaching is reflected in his extensive experience as both a music and academic educator. He has taught guitar, voice, and piano within the Broward School District through Enrichment Masters, provided after-school enrichment as a 5th-grade teacher, and has a background of teaching students online. Beyond music, he has formally taught English to K–12 students across public, charter, and private schools. Whether in the classroom or the studio, Johnathan is committed to inspiring young learners and helping them discover their own creative voices.
Rooted in a family of educators, Johnathan approaches teaching with a deep respect for the impact a mentor can have on a child’s life. His philosophy centers on patience, encouragement, and the belief that education is not only a path to knowledge but a doorway to lifelong curiosity. Whether guiding students through music fundamentals or supporting their broader academic growth, he strives to cultivate both skill and genuine enthusiasm. Above all, Johnathan aims to instill a lasting love for learning—one that empowers each student to grow confidently, creatively, and with purpose.
