    About Jenna Nichols

Jenna Nichols (Jenn) has been playing the piano since 2003, and alto saxophone since 2008, and studied under Dr. Judith Schoepflin for piano studies, and under Dr. Christopher Parkin for Jazz/Classical alto saxophone studies from Whitworth University in WA state.

Jenn has extensive knowledge of musical theory, and a passion for teaching beginner-intermediate students. With a love for artistry, she is currently creating and releasing her own music, and has performed with the band Cafè Blue as a guest at Eddie’s Attic, and Athens Porchfest Festival playing alto saxophone. She currently also provides session artistry for alto saxophone and keyboard in studios, and is experienced in performance and composition on the piano. She has composed piano pieces since she was a child, and actively learns various classical piano scores for her own performances. She has played in bands since she started playing both her instruments, and has played all genres; classical and jazz being at the forefront (along with contemporary, pop, ragtime, and baroque).

With an emphasis on the importance of performance/technique, she finds value in not only teaching the basics of theory, but on finding your student’s unique sound and ability, helping them refine it in practice/instruction. She loves teaching, and is a fun, enthusiastic teacher who loves to encourage her students’ passion for music, helping them learn all the necessities of theory/methodology to flourish and create art that connects with them, and inspires their creativity.
