    About Jeffrey Glatting

Jeffrey Glatting was born and raised in the Central Florida area, where he began his musical journey on trombone in middle school jazz, concert, and marching bands. His passion for music expanded in high school when he began piano lessons, quickly building a repertoire centered around Romantic-era works by liszt, chopin, and more. During his senior year, he led the Lake Brantley Marching Band as Drum Major. After playing two seasons in the Gator Marching Band at the University of Florida, Jeffrey transferred to Rollins College in Winter Park to pursue a degree in music. There, he studied composition, voice, piano, and theory, graduating in May 2025. He spent three semesters exploring classical vocal repertoire and two semesters focusing on piano, studying works by Chopin, Debussy, and Bartók under the guidance of Dr. Byeol Kim. Along the way, he also developed a strong interest in guitar, playing in acoustic ensembles and local bands. Today, Jeffrey plays and teaches piano, guitar, and voice, while also writing, producing, and performing original music.

Jeffrey began performing in 6th grade with simple songs like Hot Cross Buns at seasonal school concerts, before moving into jazz band and marching band performances in high school. His role as Drum Major allowed him the opprotunity to conduct a band of over 300 students, further sharpening his musicianship and communication skills. In college, he played trombone at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium with the Gator Marching Band on football Saturdays and performed his piano and vocal repertoire for peers at Rollins’ Tiedtke Concert Hall. Outside of the academic setting, Jeffrey has performed as a vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist in bands across Central Florida at venues such as Will’s Pub, Bynx, and Stardust Video & Coffee.

Jeffrey’s teaching experience began in marching band, where he was responsible for leading and instructing a group of 30 students on new drill material each week. More recently, he has guided other musicians in local bands, teaching them original songs as well as covers. Through these experiences, he has learned how to effectively communicate musical ideas, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive environment for growth.

Jeffrey’s approach to teaching is rooted in patience, empathy, and encouragement. His nearly decade-long musical journey has taken him through moments of both rapid progress and challenging roadblocks, and he understands firsthand how daunting learning an instrument can feel. Because of this, he meets each student at their current level, tailoring lessons to their unique goals and needs.
