    About Jeano Cymonisse

Jeano Cymonisse is a DC area based Percussion and Piano teacher. He believes in results oriented teaching and bringing the joy of music into every lesson or class he teaches.

Since childhood, music has been part of Jeano's everyday life. He describes music as an outlet when feeling creative, pensive, overwhelmed, happy, and is even a coping mechanism for hard times. Jeano earned his degree at Prince Georges Community College.

Jeano's music journey started when playing the drums for his home church in 2005. He then started learning piano and keyboards in early high school. After many years of routine experience with music in his home church, parents within the congregation begin to share interest in setting up lessons for their children with Jeano. This moment is when Jeano's teaching journey officially began, and music education has been a big part of his life since.

In his student's lessons, Jeano incorporates a balance of learning a traditional curriculum plus selections that speak to his students' personal interests. He loves the moment when he finds the perfect piece for a student that inspires them to engage with their instrument and express themselves. Building musical literacy from the start is also very important to Jeano, and he enjoys using the Faber curriculum for Piano Students. For Drum students, he uses a wider variety of resources to speak to the styles and type of percussion that interests them. For beginners, Alfred's Beginner Drum Course is a favorite, along with others.

After six years of teaching both privately and in the school setting, Jeano is excited to encourage his students forward and pass on the musical tradition that has meant so much to him.
