Education: Most of my music education came from my father, Emmy-award winning classical composer, John Aschenbrenner. He taught me about music theory from a young age and I have utilized this knowledge in both my performance and teaching careers.
Jake Aschenbrenner has spent much of his life pursuing the craft and love of music. He initially learned music theory from his Emmy-nominated father, composer John Aschenbrenner, beginning in his teenage years. Taking this knowledge, Jake turned his interests towards the genres of folk, rock and bluegrass, playing in a variety of groups and once touring across the United States. Over the course of the last 10 years, Jake has taught private clients how to play the guitar and he currently is an instructor at the Boulder MUSE program - a non-profit free music program in Boulder, CO.
Jake continues to pursue guitar, not only as a teacher, but as a student: turning his eyes towards jazz guitar, he continues to work as a freelance musician and to pioneer his own musical projects and bands in the Denver-Boulder area. If you want to learn the finer points of music theory or if you are looking to just begin learning the guitar, Jake can help you to get to where you want to be as a guitarist. The most important thing to Jake is that his students continue to enjoy playing their instrument and get to the highest level that they desire: whether that be a casual hobbyist or a world-touring superstar.
