    About Jack Schonher

Jack Schonher grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and now lives in Seattle, Washington. Jack was raised in a household that loved classic rock music of the 60's, 70's and 80's which formed much of his initial musical interest. He began taking guitar lessons at the age of 8 years old and progressed through formal music training in Orchestra in primary and secondary school. He also studied under California blues guitarist Laura Chavez for 3 years during this time.

At the age of 17, Jack began offering private music lessons that catered to beginner guitarists. Jack is primarily influenced by the electric guitar playing blues, classic rock, and heavy metal. Jack also has experience playing acoustic, 12 string, and bass guitar as well. Currently, Jack plays in the Seattle heavy metal band, Telomyras, as a lead guitarist and is one of the primary writers and arrangers for the band. He has performed in many local venues in the greater Seattle area, such as The Funhouse and Substation.

Along with music, Jack is passionate about teaching and received his Bachler's of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Vermont. He is currently working as a Social Studies teacher and teaches a wide range of students, including those with physical and learning challenges. Jack is also currently pursuing his Master of Education from Clemson University.

Jack's goal in lessons is to inspire beginner to intermediate guitar players to learn and love their instrument. He is looking forward to being a part of your family's journey with music!

In his spare time, Jack enjoys skiing, grilling, and playing video games!
