Having commenced piano lessons at the age of 4, Jeanie has been a lifelong learner of classical music. She enjoys music because of its diversity, allowing for a broad repertoire of fast, showy and slow, expressive pieces. She believes music is a universal language that’s constantly being developed and unites us all.
Her formal lessons began at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary at 6 years old. In middle school, under the instruction of Judy Baker, she performed a Mozart concerto with the Port Gardner Bay Chamber Orchestra. Competing at the local level, she competed at MTNA and placed first each year in Snohomish Music Teacher Association’s scholarship competition.
She appreciates her ability to express herself through music and wants to share that with students. Her hope is that they will have an outlet and grow as musicians throughout the course of their lives.
