    About Holland Ealy

Holland Ealy is a devoted Woodwind Specialist, performing artist, and music educator based in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. Seeking means of discovery and expression through music, Holland has dedicated her life to performance, teaching, and continual growth. She is a multi-instrumental instructor who teaches all Band Instruments - Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion - along with Piano. Her primary instruments are Clarinet and Bassoon.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Holland began her musical journey on Clarinet in fourth grade and added Bassoon by seventh grade. She went on to become an All‑State Bassoon player while in Georgia. In Atlanta, Holland studied privately with Instructor Shelly Unger. But in her college studies at Tennessee State University she was a student of Patricia Gunter and Dr. Reginald McDonald.

Holland earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Tennessee State University in 2019, where she received Classical training on both Bassoon and Clarinet and expanded her studies to become a Woodwind Specialist. She performed with the Tennessee State University Wind Symphony throughout her collegiate career and was a recurring Bassoonist with the Dekalb Youth Symphony Orchestra during her high-school career -- gaining experience in both solo and ensemble repertoire, as well as preparation for a professional life in music.

Teaching has been central to Holland’s artistic mission since high school. She offers private lessons for all ages and levels across a variety of Woodwind instruments. She believes that an important key to success for all students is a strong foundation in technique, theory, and performance. With students across all instruments, she emphasizes solid fundamentals, consistent practice, and the development of confident musicianship. Holland’s students have earned scholarships to numerous institutions, placed highly in solo and ensemble festivals, and secured positions in all‑state ensembles and orchestras—testimony to her thoughtful approach to instruction.

Committed to helping students work smarter, not harder, Holland provides practical tools and strategies that foster efficient practice habits and sustainable musical growth. She brings warmth, patience, and high musical standards to every lesson, guiding each student toward deeper expression and greater technical independence. Though her instruction, she hopes to guide her students to create a special relationship with music and establish the principles that will allow them to enjoy their instrument for a lifetime.
