Nihao has had the honor of serving in two prestigious orchestras: the UCLA Symphony and the Columbia University Orchestra. His extensive experience in these settings has given him a deep understanding of the dynamics and intricacies involved in orchestral performance. Nihao's background equips him with the insights and skills necessary to guide you through the challenges and joys of orchestral music.

Violin: Nihao's journey with the violin began at the age of five. This early start laid a strong foundation for his musical career. By middle school, he had already achieved a significant milestone by passing the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Grade 8 exam. Nihao's dedication to the violin continued through his academic years, allowing him to actively participate in school orchestras from middle school to his master’s program, both in Beijing, his hometown, and at various American colleges. In 2020, Nihao decided to broaden his musical horizons by learning to play the acoustic guitar. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, particularly as it enhanced his understanding of chords and music composition. His proficiency in guitar complements his violin skills, allowing him to explore and create music in diverse ways.

Nihao has had the privilege of teaching at the Birmingham School of Music, where he worked with students of all ages and skill levels. His teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every student has unique musical potential. He strives to foster an environment that encourages creativity and self-expression while ensuring that foundational skills are solidly developed.

In Nihao's view, learning music should transcend mere replication of others' work. The true beauty of music lies in the ability to create your own musical world. Writing your own music is not only immensely satisfying but also a deeply personal and enriching experience. His dedication to this philosophy led him to compose and produce his first album, "From Diary," which was released in 2023. This album, available on platforms such as Shopify, Apple Music, and YouTube, is a testament to his belief in the power of original music. Among its tracks is an English song titled “Evergreen,” which expresses his affection for the city of Seattle.
