    About Grace Sullivan

Grace loves to help students of all ages, skill levels, and abilities to discover their strengths in and love for music! Grace teaches lessons that are focused on making learning fun and helping students to develop healthy technique, expressive musicianship, and musical independence. Grace has a strong focus on each student's unique learning style, goals, and interests, and believes that every student has exciting strengths and musicianship to discover!

Grace has been teaching private music lessons since 2018, and actually started by teaching lessons in students' homes. Since then, she has taught in homes, brick and mortar studios, private school classrooms, and retains an active online studio via Zoom! Grace served as the middle and high school choir and band teacher at Valley Christian School in Wisconsin for a year before pursuing her masters degree in Iowa, where she maintained a studio of up to 40 students at a time. Grace also loves being involved in theatre, both on and off stage, and has served as the vocal director for Beauty and the Beast and Annie Jr.

After earning her bachelor's degree from Ripon College in 2020 (music performance- emphasis voice and piano) Grace then pursued her master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where she graduated in 2023 (vocal performance). Grace started taking piano lessons when she was 11, adding cello a few years later. Grace continued to fall in love with music, adding voice, guitar, and ukulele to her repertoire. Grace is passionate about empowering her students to explore their unique passions and interests, just as so many wonderful teachers have encouraged her to do the same.

Grace has performed with Ripon College music ensembles, serving as the principal cellist with the Ripon College Orchestra, singing with the Ripon College Chamber Singers, and returned to Ripon College after graduating as a featured soloist with the Ripon College Choral Union. She also performed with the Green Lake Festival of Music in the Thomas E Caestecker concert series, and has served as a solo and ensemble accompanist at the local and state levels for Berlin High School and Valley Christian School in Wisconsin. Grace's performance credits also include Mrs. Wormwood Matilda, Wardrobe (Belle US) Beauty and the Beast, The Spirit (Second Woman US) Dido and Aeneas, Mary Poppins Mary Poppins (cancelled due to Covid), and various partial opera roles in scenes performances.
