    About Georgii Simkin

Georgii was born in Moscow, Russia. Prior to moving to the United States, he got a degree in teaching and classical piano performance. Georgii says, “For me, music is not just songs, it is a whole another language. I enjoy it because it lets me feel and realize things otherwise unreachable to me”.

Georgii started his musical journey at the age of 5. His family had a piano at home, and young Georgii played the music he heard by ear. His parents quickly noticed his talent, and he soon went to a professional musical school of A. N. Verstovsky. There, the teachers immediately realized that Georgii has an extremely rare inborn perfect pitch. During his years at musical school, Georgii got training in all aspects of classical music: singing, solfeggio, harmony, elementary theory of music, history of music, and, of course, piano performance. He has also participated in many recitals and competitions where he was noticed by Mikhail Senovalov, concert pianist, who took keen interest in providing private lessons to Georgii.

After graduating in 2016, Georgii spent two years having extended training with M. Senovalov. In 2018, Georgii went to Moscow Regional College of Fine Arts where he continued his lessons with professor Senovalov. In 2022, he successfully graduated with a degree in piano performance and teaching. An important part of his degree was a two-year internship as a piano teacher for kids. During those two years, he got hands-on experience in teaching children while being supervised by experienced teachers. Georgii has been working as a private piano teacher since 2024.

Georgii’s teaching strategy is goal-centered lessons. With a distinct goal, even the hardest things are well within the students’ reach.

Georgii’s philosophy is, “Music is for everyone. Art should not only belong to those who can afford it”. Georgii takes popularizing classical music very seriously. “Classical music is our intangible heritage. It is much more mundane than many think. It can’t be outdated. It is timeless”.
