Gabriel Nobis is a music professional with many years of experience as a producer, audio engineer, pianist, and vocalist. Growing up in Seattle, Gabriel started his musical journey at a young age when he began to take piano lessons in 2010. Through his lessons, he found a passion not only for piano, but for synthesis and music production as well. After acquiring his first DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in 2016, he learned to produce on his own until college.
In 2019, Gabriel moved to Eugene, Oregon where he attended the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance. Under his professors Jon Bellona and Jeffery Stolet, he studied music theory, composition, production, audio engineering, and piano and vocal performance, and achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Music Technology. He also gained valuable experience as a performer, performing vocals with the University of Oregon Hip Hop Ensemble as well as with an indie pop/hip-hop inspired duo called Skoob. With Skoob, he performed in the ASUO Battle of the Bands at WOW Hall.
After graduating, Gabriel found a love for teaching music. He enjoys sharing his passion for music, and getting to know his students beyond the instrument they play. In his lessons, he strives to create a fun learning environment where his students not only grow as musicians, but as people too.
Outside of teaching music, Gabriel continues to produce music and perform in the PNW. He also plays Ultimate Frisbee, which he started in 2010 at Whittier Elementary. He’s coached many youth teams including Whittier Elementary, Whitman Middle School, Ballard High School, and South Eugene High School, and was a three year captain for the University of Oregon men’s team, Oregon Ego.
