Teacher Profile: Emily Hoff

About Emily Hoff

Emily Hoff's journey with music began in Garland, Texas, at the age of six. Her grandmother recognized her quick fingers and encouraged her to learn Elvis Presley songs on an old electric organ, long before the advent of YouTube. At twelve, Emily picked up her brother's guitar after he lost interest, and she never put it down again.

It was also thanks to her grandmother that Emily discovered her love for singing. Though she was initially reluctant to attend church choir practices, she quickly fell in love with singing. Over eight years in school choir, she developed a deep understanding of music theory. During her time at Woodrow Wilson High School, she performed with the A Capella, Jazz, and Pop Choir groups, earning first-place medals in UIL and Solo and Ensemble competitions for all 4 consecutive years.

With over twelve years of experience teaching children of all ages, Emily has always found her calling in education. While music remains her passion, she strives to incorporate it into every aspect of her teaching.
