Elliot is an accomplished music educator and performer who teaches piano, voice, brass, and ukulele to students of all ages and experience levels. Known for his encouraging and student-centered teaching style, he is passionate about helping musicians build confidence, develop strong technical foundations, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for music. His diverse background as both a performer and educator allows him to connect with students through a wide range of musical styles and learning approaches.
Elliot's musical journey began in the sixth grade when he started playing euphonium. Shortly thereafter, he transitioned to tuba as soon as he was tall enough to comfortably reach the instrument's mouthpiece. Raised in Mildred, Texas, a small rural community about an hour south of Dallas, he quickly became immersed in his school's music programs and developed a deep appreciation for ensemble performance and musical leadership.
During high school, Elliot served as Captain of the Front Ensemble in the marching band and held the role of Music Librarian, helping organize and maintain the band's music collection. These leadership opportunities strengthened his collaborative skills and fostered a strong sense of responsibility that continues to influence his work as both a teacher and performer.
Elliot attended Navarro College, where he earned his Associate Degree. While he initially focused on tuba performance, he discovered a growing passion for vocal music and shifted his primary area of study to voice after his first year. Following his graduation from Navarro, he continued his musical education at Kent State University, further refining his skills as a vocalist and musician.
Today, Elliot remains an active performer and is a member of the Turtle Creek Chorale, where he continues to share his love of music through choral performance. In addition to his work as a vocalist, he enjoys performing on piano and ukulele and brings that practical performance experience into his teaching. His lessons emphasize musical expression, creativity, and individualized instruction, helping each student progress toward their unique goals while developing a genuine enjoyment of music.
When he is not teaching or performing, Elliot enjoys writing music, attending karaoke nights with friends, and playing video games. His enthusiasm, versatility, and commitment to music education make him a dedicated mentor for students seeking both musical growth and a rewarding learning experience.
