    About Devin Foster

    Devin Foster is from Columbus, Ohio, where she first began her musical studies on euphonium at the age of 11. At the age of 13, she began learning the tuba and bass trombone. She was admitted to several youth groups such as the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra, Columbus Youth Symphonic Band, and Columbus Youth Jazz Studio.

    Devin has received her Bachelor of Music degree in tuba performance at Capital University with Tony Zilincik, and is currently studying with John DiCesare at the University of Washington for her Master of Music degree in tuba performance. She has performed with groups such as the Dublin Silver Brass Band, Puget Brass, Formation Wind Band, and Women of Harmony Brass Quintet and has soloed with groups such as the University of Washington’s concert band.

    Devin enjoys performing and exploring different areas of music. She chose music because it resonated with her and she knew that it was her vocation. Along with performing, she enjoys teaching others. She has been giving lessons since she was 15 years old and has experience as a brass technician for several marching bands, including the University of Washington’s Husky Marching Band, and has experience as an assistant marching band director.
