Danielle has dedicated the past 13 years to fostering growth and self-expression through music education, particularly for diverse learners. Her teaching philosophy centers on loving kindness, respect, building confidence and having fun! She does this with humor, a positive mindset, clear communication and instills trust through developing meaningful connections with her students and their families on a personal level.
Danielle enjoys teaching a variety of genres, in a playful upbeat method that includes theory, technique and building a repertoire for performance. Music is the greatest gift you can receive and the most humbling gift you can give to your loved ones. It often says what words cannot when expressed from the heart, with passion. The whole point of art, she believes, is to inspire change from within.
Danielle started singing at age 3, took piano lessons from age 8-13, and voice lessons from 13-16. Her goal as a teen was to be able to sing like Whitney Houston, and write songs like Tori Amos and Ani Difranco. She starred in several lead roles in middle school and high school musicals, including the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Sandra D in Grease and Maria in West Side Story. Danielle graduated from Nauset Regional High School in 1998 went on to get a Minor in Theatre at The University of Vermont, where she majored in Psychology and earned her BA in 2002.
At age 18, Danielle started writing her own songs and began playing open mic nights. In college, she was in an Indie rock band called Electric Sheep. Other bands Danielle has sang lead vocals on include, The Sirens, Little D and the Fae, Flash Molasses and back up vocals for decker, Natesh and Sanjali. Danielle recorded two albums of her original songs. Her first album was titled "Hardcore, like a peach" in 2005 which she recorded on her digital 8 track Fostex. Her second album, "Chrysalis" was recorded from 2014-2015 with a Val Milenkovitch, who also produced decker.'s first album. (Indie band from Sedona, AZ)
Danielle has been teaching Piano and Voice since 2013 for various schools of music. She is also a Sound Healer and was a Therapeutic Musician for Verde Valley Medical Center, cancer patients, and elderly individuals in hospice.
Danielle enjoys hiking in Boulder, gardening, going out to breakfast with friends, yoga, meditation, gong baths, hot springs road trips, making gemstone jewelry and cat-sitting. She has dabbled in writing EDM music in Abelton live, and live looping her multiple instruments (Hopi Elk Skin Drum, Mandolin, 12 string guitar, keyboard, harmonium, electric guitar) on a BOSS 505 looper station with several harmonizing vocal layers. She loves harmony.
Danielle specializes in teaching individuals on the autistic spectrum, basically giving anyone who does not feel like they belong, a safe place and someone to believe in them. Inclusively is really important to her and she values embracing diversity, multiculturalism, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
