Daniel Fleming is a Maryland-based Music Educator specializing in Vocal Performance. He has devoted himself to music and theatre. He has a deep passion for the art of singing and has a fascination with vocal pedagogy and the versatility of sounds that can be made with the voice.
Daniel Fleming graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory with a Bachelor's of Music in Voice Performance, where he studied with Nancy Gustafson, and from Northwestern University with a Master's of Music in Voice and Opera, where he studied with Stephen Smith.
Fleming has performed a wide range of music from, Classical and New Opera to Artsong, and Musical Theatre and Rock 'n Roll. He has performed in the chorus for Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, as well as in principal roles with Florentine Opera, InSeries Opera, and L'Opera Comique du Washington. He has also performed in various musicals.
While performing has brought him great joy, Fleming has an even deeper love for teaching the art of singing. He has eight years of experience as a voice teacher. He has taught varied settings as well: from the private and in-studio lesson setting to teaching as a non-major Voice Teacher at Northwestern University. No matter the venue, or goal, teaching students to be able to sing with complete freedom and power is his greatest passion. He hopes that by doing so, his students will be free to pour the souls out into their songs.
Outside of music, Fleming enjoys hiking and various nerdy pastimes - namely reading novels and playing DnD.
