    About Daniel Che

Daniel is a graduate of the Yale School of Music with a Master of Music in Piano Performance, and he also holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Piano Performance and Economics from Northwestern University. Over the years, he has gained extensive performance experience—both during his studies and through international festivals and competitions. He is a laureate of the MTNA National Competition and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and he has performed solo recitals at the Bergen Music Festival (Netherlands) and concertos with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, among others. His principal teachers include Boris Berman, Melvin Chen, James Giles, and Yifan Liu.

He offers classical piano instruction for all levels—from absolute beginners to advanced students preparing for auditions or competitions. With a strong foundation in classical technique and repertoire, he tailors each lesson to meet personal goals, whether students are aiming for conservatory training or simply want to deepen their enjoyment of music.

In addition to classical training, he is passionate about improvisation, composition, and playing by ear. Though self-taught in these areas, he has developed a flexible, intuitive approach to helping students unlock their creativity. He offers instruction in these skills up to the beginner-intermediate level, drawing from a range of styles including jazz, pop, and contemporary classical. He also incorporates music theory to help students better understand what they’re hearing and playing.
