Bronson J Rodriguez is a musician and educator native to Northern Virginia. He teaches percussion and piano using a personalized, skill-based approach paired with enjoyment of music. He has over 10 years of performance experience, ranging from orchestral and marching percussion to choral and operatic singing.
Bronson studied percussion with William Messerschmidt of the US Army Band "Pershing's Own" and voice with world-renowned tenor John Aler and dramatic soprano Dr. Lori Lind. He holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from George Mason University. Bronson currently teaches percussion to the Oakton High School Marching Cougars, who won the Metallica Marching band competition in 2023 and achieved a superior rating at the VBODA Marching Band Assessment in 2023 and 2024. A dramatic tenor, he has sung roles with Mason Opera and Shakespeare Opera Theatre and performed in area churches as tenor soloist and section leader.
Mr. Rodriguez believes that fun and hard work go hand in hand. He accounts for his student's skill level, interests, and goals to craft personalized learning plans. He endeavors to create a fun and supportive environment while holding students accountable for their technique and their work. He believes in evidence and scientific based musical technique and is comfortable relaying complex information to students in age-appropriate ways.
