    About Brittany Hunter

Brittany Hunter is a native Marylander and has been an avid musician since she was a child. As the daughter of a gospel choir directer, Brittany has been been immersed in music her whole life, and she began taking voice lessons of her own at the age of 7 and continued taking voice lessons throughout high school. During her childhood lessons Brittany was exposed to gospel and musical theater selections. Brittany’s childhood lessons exposed her to different kinds of music and eventually lead to her love of classical music, specifically classical voice.

Brittany has studied classical voice performance at the Lawrence University Conservatory as well as the University of Maryland. During her time at UMD, Brittany has enjoyed many opportunities to perform, including church jobs as well as taking part in an original experimental opera that took place in DC. Although Brittany has a love of classical music, she has also studied musical theater, and jazz and she loves to perform many different vocal styles.

In addition to performing, Brittany has developed a love of music education. Brittany loves teaching voice lessons and hopes to guide all of her students on their vocal journeys. Brittany’s primary instrument is voice but during her time as a vocal performance student, she has also studied piano, and she hopes to extend both her vocal knowledge as well as her piano skills to her students. Brittany is excited to guide new musicians and help them learn and appreciate music just as much as she does.
