About Brandon Ford

Brandon Ford is a dedicated Music Educator (Piano, Voice, and Drums), Vocalist, Songwriter, and Audio Engineer with a deep passion for the intersection of music and technology. He earned his degree in Music, with a concentration in Recording Technology, from Bowie State University. Throughout his academic journey, Brandon performed in a variety of ensembles—including various choirs and jazz bands—developing a strong foundation in vocal performance, musicianship, and collaborative artistry. He also has foundational skills in guitar, which further support his versatility as a musician and educator. The main areas he teaches with private students include Piano, Voice, Drums, and Music Technology.

Brandon has held several instructional roles through the Montgomery County school system, where he is known for creating inclusive, engaging learning environments that encourage students to explore and develop their abilities. As a Vocalist, he sings primarily in the baritone to second tenor range and draws inspiration from a lifelong love of music shared with his family—all of whom are musicians and educators as well.

With a strong belief in the power of music to inspire and connect, Brandon is passionate about mentoring the next generation of musicians and equipping them with both the artistic and technical tools to succeed. He teaches all styles of Voice, which include Classical / Opera, Musical Theater, Pop and more! For his Piano students, he teaches through a traditional approach and often pulls from the Bastien method, as well as contemporary favorites like the Faber Piano Adventures curriculum.

Both Band and Orchestral Percussion and playing the Drum Kit is where Brandon first got his start with music study. He studied from 3rd grade through high school and transitioned his study to Voice primarily in college. However, his love of percussion and working with students has stayed with him, and he teaches all instruments and styles in this area, including mallet percussion.

In addition to his musical talents, Brandon has built a thriving career in audio-visual services, specializing in live audio engineering. His ability to integrate technical expertise with creative expression offers a unique perspective that enhances both his performances and his instructional approach.
