Bob Stigall brings a wealth of experience, passion, and professionalism to his teaching. His lifelong journey with music began in childhood, playing instruments in church, which laid the foundation for a career defined by musical excellence. At the age of 17, Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he held the prestigious position of performing with the Marine Corps Band Jazz Combo. After an honorable discharge in 2002, Bob pursued his passion for music by studying jazz performance with a focus on guitar at the University of Memphis’ Rudy E. Scheidt School of Music.
Following his graduation, Bob moved with his family to Charlotte, North Carolina, where at a music school he taught private music lessons from 2006 to 2015. During this time, he mentored students of all ages in guitar, piano, bass, and drums, helping many young musicians grow in skill and confidence. Bob also served as the lead director for all performance shows, gaining a reputation as the preferred teacher for many students and their friends, ranging in age from 5 to 20 years old.
In addition to his teaching career, Bob has toured with several bands, providing private lessons to aspiring musicians along the way. His commitment to service continued in 2018 when he joined the Army National Guard, where he currently serves as a reservist with the 116th Army Band. As a musician in the National Guard, Bob performs in diverse settings, including jazz combos, big bands, orchestras, and marching ensembles, showcasing his versatility across musical genres.
Bob also holds a degree in Operations Management with a concentration in Project Management and is currently pursuing an MBA. Residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Bob enjoys performing live and recording in studios across the South. His musical journey, which began with playing Stevie Wonder tunes on a harmonica, is driven by an unending passion for music. Bob’s love for practice remains as fresh as the first day he picked up an instrument, and he finds immense joy in sharing his talent with students who are eager to explore the world of music.
