Bazil Gillen grew up in Denver, Colorado, and took to drumming at around age ten. He has since then been an active member of the Denver music scene for over 10+ years.
After obtaining his Associate of Arts from Red Rocks Community College and a certificate in Audio Production from Warren Tech, he decided to further his education in the pursuit of jazz performance and music education degrees, studying at MSU Denver.
Currently, his music career consists of a steady flow of local shows, studio work, and tours across the country. Baz also keeps busy by teaching private lessons to students of all ages/playing levels, as well as teaching in various public schools all across Colorado. Since first entering the field of music education in 2020, Baz has discovered a true passion for education and pedagogy and hopes to further his skills not only as a player but as an educator.
