    About Austin Rice

Austin Rice is a graduate of North Central University (NCU) in Minneapolis, MN with a bachelor’s degree in music and an emphasis in vocal performance. During his time in college, he had the privilege of performing and traveling with NCU’s premier choir, Chorale, to Carnegie Hall in New York City, New York. He also arranged and conducted a choir performance as well as wrote and performed an original song while at NCU. After his time in Minneapolis, Austin moved to Denver, CO to work as a music director at a church for nearly three years. While in Denver, he continued conducting and arranging choir pieces, writing music, and began teaching piano, guitar, and vocal students. He then moved to his current residency of Seattle to be closer to family.

Austin found his love for music as his mom took him to music lessons when he was 8 years old. At 13, he began learning guitar and playing in his church music band. When he turned 17, he started to teach himself how to sing and soon became one of the lead singers’ in the same church band. Since then, he has led band rehearsals for 8 years and performed in churches, nursing homes, and special care facilities. He has 10 years of experience in piano, 13 years in guitar, and 9 years in singing.

Having been given the opportunity to learn and grow in his musical abilities under great teachers, Austin believes he too must use those talents to instruct others. He has experience in teaching music to both young and old students ranging 7-55 years old. His goal is to inspire students to find a deeper meaning and love for music.

When he is not doing music, he pursues other hobbies such as hiking, backpacking, camping, playing board games, and kayaking.
