    About Andrew Butler

A native to the Seattle area, Andrew started guitar and piano lessons at 7 years old. Showing talent for improvisation, he switched his focus from classical to jazz in grade school, and has continued to study improvisational arts throughout his career.

Andrew was an active group and ensemble member at Eastlake High School, and American River College. Through these programs, he was able to distinguish himself as an ensemble and solo player with high marks at the Lionel Hampton Jazz festival. He was also able to be apart of the 2010 performance of "Come Sunday", a collection of Ellington spiritual music, with the Sacramento Master Singers and tap legend Ardie Bryant.

In addition to teaching private guitar and piano lessons in Seattle, Andrew is a working professional musician. He plays in various local bands, and as a session player in a handful of recording studios in the Seattle area.
