Andrew Bates is a 2002 graduate of UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Percussion Performance having studied with Anthony DiSanza
and Jim Latimer. He has performed with numerous performing
ensembles of genres ranging from rock to classical to blues. Andrew has
also been a student and a teacher of World Percussion and Percussion
for Drum Circles. Andrew has studied Drum Circles as an Education Tool
with Kalani, one of the foremost Drum Circle facilitators, Afro-Cuban
Percussion with Master Conga Player Roberto Vizcaino Guillot, and Latin
Percussion with Latin Music Scholar and Performer John Santos of
Machete. Andrew has also earned a degree in Madison Media Institute
for Recording Technology and is an adept at performing and
engineering in a recording studio and works at a recording studio that
specializes in Voice Over for phone, GPS, Public Address, and more.
Andrew is also a very advanced harmonica player and teacher who has
studied with Milwaukee legend Jim Liban. Andrew is a patient and
encouraging teacher, who is dedicated to helping children and adults
achieve both success and fulfillment through music
