    About Ana Kimzey

Ana Kimzey is a proud flutist and pianist with an enthusiasm for the arts. From a very young age, she was exposed to rock 'n roll from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, creating a love for music that has never dwindled. When she was introduced to the keyboard at age 5, it became clear that her love for music extended beyond just listening.
Ana has had the privilege of performing in two separate marching band programs and 3 different wind ensembles, and has been allowed to lead and conduct. She has been awarded one UIL State Marching Band championship and several outstanding scores in UIL Solo & Ensemble for both flute and piccolo solos. Since retiring from high school band, Ana now spends her free time playing classical pieces, with some of her favorites being music from  Chopin and Shostakovich.
The first private lessons Ana taught were at age 12, to a girl down her street, who wanted to learn songs from The Little Mermaid and eventually the foundations of piano. This passion for teaching others only grew as she did, going on to help classmates through technique and instrument struggles.
Ana is a strong believer that music should never feel like a chore. She believes that everyone can create, and you can't force creativity out of somebody. Ana lives by the idea that anything can be made fun if you know how to, including fundamentals such as scales or reading notation.
She formerly studied music under Aaron Snipes III and Jonathan Weddle, as well as several other private teachers.
