Alex Szasz is a trumpet player with the Air Force band as well as a music educator based in the Northern VA area. He works with Trumpet, and high brass students. Alex's Air Force career started in 2017 as a member of the Air Force Academy Band, Colorado. During his stay in Colorado, Alex also maintained a studio of private students and has continued that in the DMV.
Mr. Szasz started his Trumpet studies under the direction of John McElroy, former principal trumpet of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. In 2015, he completed his undergraduate studies in trumpet performance from McGill University in Canada, where he studied with Andrew Dunn and Russell DeVuyst. In 2017, he completed his Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance at DePaul University in Chicago under the guidance of professors Bill Denton, Matthew Comerford, Matthew Lee and Tage Larsen. While earning his degrees, Alex also received training additional musical areas, which include include extensive theory and aural training, piano studies, and performance experience within the Solo, Chamber, and Large Ensemble settings.
In his free time, Alex likes to play chess, basketball, and enjoys exploring nature and the outdoors.
