About Alex Siegal
Alex Siegal is a dedicated vocal and piano instructor with a strong background in performance and education. While in High Point University, he was part of the elite Chamber Singers and the all male a-cappella group Toccatatones. Alex performs professionally with the Washington Master Chorale and has been with the group for 4 seasons and counting. His musical theatre performing professionally was with Classic Theatre of Maryland in the productions Kiss Me Kate, Cabaret, and Oliver as well as with Dominion Stage in the production of Heathers bringing real-world performance experience to his teaching.
Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and Theatre Performance from High Point University in 2017 with both a music scholarship and Chamber Singer scholarship. With three years of teaching experience, Alex has worked with students ranging from 5th to 12th grade, as well as teens and adults, helping them develop their vocal and piano skills from beginner to advanced levels. His teaching in voice focuses on essential techniques like breath control, body relaxation, and ear training to improve pitch and tone and working with emotion to convey the song. His teaching in piano focuses on a variety of teaching methods to cater to individual learning styles and musical interests. Alex personalizes each lesson to the student’s goals, often incorporating music they love to keep them motivated and engaged.
Alex's teaching philosophy is that music has the power to change and transform lives. Alex is known for creating a relaxed, supportive, and fun environment in his lessons in both voice and piano. His approachable style makes students feel comfortable, while his ability to motivate and encourage helps them reach their full potential. He shares his own experiences overcoming vocal and piano challenges and pursuing a career in music, inspiring his students to develop confidence and a passion for singing and piano playing. Above all, Alex strives to ensure that each student feels excited about their musical journey and is equipped to continue growing as a musician.
