About Zuleida Suarez

Zuleida Suárez, a Cuban-born guitarist and pianist now residing in Carrollton, TX, is renowned for her deep expertise in music performance and pedagogy. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a Major in Guitar Performance (2006) and a Master's Degree in Formative Process in Music Education (2022) from the University of Arts in Havana, Cuba. Throughout her career, Zuleida has made significant contributions to the academic and artistic development of students in Cuba and Jamaica. She has taught at prestigious institutions such as the Manuel Saumell Elementary Conservatory of Music and the University of Arts in Havana from 2018 to 2024, as well as Northern Caribbean University in Jamaica from 2020 to 2021.

Beyond her academic achievements, Zuleida has cultivated a thriving career in chamber music, particularly in collaborations featuring the guitar. She has performed with a diverse range of musicians and has been a featured artist at numerous international festivals, including the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival in Mexico, the GuitART International Guitar Festival in Miami, Florida, the Havana International Contemporary Music Festival, the Havana International Guitar Festival and Competition, the Leo Brouwer International Chamber Music Festival in Havana, and the Miami Beach International Performance Festival in Miami, Florida. As the founder and director of the guitar duet Con-Trastes, she continues to influence and inspire the global music community.

In addition to her accomplishments with the guitar, Zuleida is also a respected piano teacher, known for her ability to inspire and develop her students' musical talents. She is an honorable member of the Cuban National Concert Music Center (CNMC) and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC). Zuleida’s dedication to music education and performance has left a lasting impact on both the guitar and piano communities, both in her homeland of Cuba and beyond.
