Music has been an intrinsic part of Zain Najeebi’s life since childhood. He discovered his passion for piano at the age of 8 when he stumbled upon a keyboard in a friend’s home. Self-taught at first, Zain later pursued formal training under Abby Thompson in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, honing his skills and deepening his understanding of the instrument. During his high school years, he expanded his musical interests to include ukulele, melodica, percussion, music production, singing, rapping, and mixing/mastering, becoming a versatile and well-rounded musician.
Zain continued his musical education at Holyoke Community College, where he studied with notable instructors such as Ania Bostock, Robert Ferrier, Geoffrey Cunningham, and Ellen Cogen. Throughout his journey, Zain has excelled in various musical mediums. He began his competitive journey in classical piano, winning numerous awards, and was supported by Falcetti's Music, a prominent piano retailer and lessons hub. His work in music production has led to collaborations with notable artists in the Lo-Fi community, including The Deli, CoryAyo, and Eery. Currently, Zain is working on his third LP, where he plans to integrate more songwriting and vocal elements into his production.
A dedicated and passionate educator, Zain takes pride in teaching and mentoring others. His approach emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive, creative, and engaging relationship with one’s instrument, fostering both skill development and a lifelong love of music. He has successfully taught and coached aspiring musicians across various disciplines, sharing his expertise in piano, music production, and beyond.
In addition to music, Zain’s interests include spirituality, mental health counseling, coaching, reading, skateboarding, dog training, and gaming. He continues to explore these passions with the same enthusiasm and mindfulness that he brings to his teaching practice.
