Zachariah Schmidt graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. He accompanies for several schools in the Atlanta area, collaborates with various instrumentalists and vocalists, and gives piano lessons at Piano Fortissimo, William Pu Music Academy and within his own private studio.
Zachariah was a finalist in the Georgia State University Brumby Concerto Competition in April of 2017, playing Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with "beautiful phrasing, melodic presence and powerfully controlled clarity." He was also a finalist in the 19th Regional Osaka International Music Competition in the spring of 2018. He has studied and performed with choirs and solo instrumentalists in Chicago, Omaha, Nashville, Chattanooga, Denver, Germany, Greece, Austria and the greater Atlanta area. Zachariah's performance experience is diverse and vast, having expertise in repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to Chopin and Rachmaninoff. He really enjoys pairing his classical background and musical knowledge with his ability to connect with his students and help them garner an appreciation for the piano and its beauty.
